Sketch for Syl

This is the sketch of a 36 x 36 painting I'm doing for my friend Sylvie. It's a birds eye view of a girl walking with her dog in the park/forest in an fall sunny afternoon.

She really likes the proposition put se doesn't want to walk alone, so I'll give her company and have the dog leading the way a good ten to fifteen feet in front of them.

It changes the mood, but I don't mind.

Illustration Friday (Opinion)

For this week subject, I had to go through my stuff and find that little homework I did, something like 10 years ago, to demonstrate the contrast that can be acheive with colors of different warmth. Everyone is intended to is own opinion, just goota choose your color.

Les gens du Québec vont sûrement voir la petite opinion cachée à l'intérieur. Je me demande parcontre, si le bleu 101 ne devrait pas apparaître à gauche dans l'image, mais ça c'est de la politique et non de l'art.

Le camp d'entrainement est commencé

L'été est fini et c'est le temps de briser la glace.

La musique a occupé une grande partie de la période estivale et c'était normal de tenter d'y faire honneur pour cet exercice.

Summer is over and it's training camp time.

Since summer was spent learning guitar (trying to) , I tought that something related to sound waves would be a good subject for the first exercise.

By the way I'm off to Greece from Oct 6 to 18.

Nuit blanche sur tableau noir (nuit du 5-6 juin 2008)

Mother nature doesn’t care at all about what’s going on down below before she starts pouring.Well at least she didn’t care yesterday. Half-way through our 12’ x 20’ street painting project. Water based paint and water do mix. It still was a lot of fun, before the rain, all the small attentions from the volunteers and the small bits of conversations that we have with the on-lookers, is a nice change from painting in front of my sleeping dog. Special thanks as well to my friend Yvan who was helping me out again this year.

La pluie est venue mettre fin à nos efforts à mi-course, et on a pas de pneu pluie comme la Formule Un. Dame nature a tiré la plug sur le Party et tout le monde est rentré à la maison.
On se ré-essayera encore l’an prochain car c’est super agréable et spéciale de peindre devant les gens qui passent, arrêtent, prennent des photos et posent des questions. sans oublier le travail des bénévoles qui nous traites aux petits oignons toute la nuit. C'est différend que peindre avec mon chien comme seul spectateur.

I'M BACK......... DE RETOUR

Désolé de vous avoir laissé en plan si longtemps. Les temps libres se font rare et doivent-être partagé avec tout le reste. Je me suis mis à la guitare avec mon fils, j'entreprend la saison de golf et je dois en plus redoubler d'efforts pour la course à pieds.

Time flies, family, golf, guitar, jogging and so on...It was hard to find some time to devote to drawing and painting. this is my story your honor and I'm sticking to it.

J'ai fait un beau voyage au Japon il y a deux semaines et ça va se voir très bientôt.

En attendant je travaille à préparer une fresque en direct la nuit de jeudi 5 juin de 22h à 2h du mat, sur le bitume de la rue Mont-Royal, au coin de De Lanaudière (4 rues à l'est de Papineau). venez me voir.

I'm getting ready for a 12' x 20' painting on the asphalt of Mont-Royal Street starting at 10 pm on June 5th. I'm number 39 or 40.

Nuit Blanche sur Tableau Noir

Voici un croquis que j'ai soumis à la direction de Nuit Blanche sur Tableau Noir, une nuit de peinture en direct sur le bitume de la rue Mont-Royal à Montréal le 5 juin prochain.J'espère que mon projet sera encore retenu cette année comme ce fut le cas en 2007http://www.tableaunoir.com/photos.php?id=278 Le thème de cette année est Ma Maison. J'ai choisi de m'inspirer du quartier de La Boca à Buenos Aires que j'ai visité en novembre dernier.
This is the project that I've submitted for this year for the annual event on Mont-Royal street in Montréal. Every year at the beginning of June, about 40 artists gets to paint a 12 x 20 feet murale right on the asphalte. La Boca from Buenos Aires inspired me for this yaer submission. From the picture posted yesterday, I've modified the composition to have the bell tower

stand out and add balance to the composition.

I've tried also to add noise to a rather plain sky.

J'ai donc commencé en modifiant la composition en réduisant la partie de gauche,

ce qui ajoute une diagonale interressante et allège le tout.

Ensuite je crois avoir réussi à donner vie au ciel.

Not Quite Soaring Yet ...

The Illustration Friday subject (Soar) from last week,

is very inspiring. But I'm late for this one.
